既存のデイサービスセンターの増築プロジェクト。デイサービスセンターでは、食事をしたり、入浴したり、文化活動をしたり、様々な活動が行われる。さらにサービスメニューのなかに散歩や遠足など屋外で過ごす活動を入れたいが、安全確保が困難なためどの施設も屋内での活動が多くなっている。そこで、庭を囲い込んで自由に屋外に出て行くことを許容し、施設内に居ながらにして屋外の空気に触れることができる広場を提案した。また、新たに作ったデイルームは通常、休憩の場所として利用されるが、建具を開け放てば、ウチ／ソトの境界が無くなり一体の場として利用出来るようにした。施設に慣れない利用者にとって居心地の良い場所になればと願っている。

This is an expansion project of the existing day service center. The food-diet, bathing, cultural, and other activities such as walking and excursions are usually becoming a daily routine. But recently, the indoor activities are increasing because of the safety issue. Therefore, in this project a plaza is proposed so it allows the customers to freely go outdoors which is surrounded with the inner garden. This day room also can be used as a place to take a rest, when the fittings open, there is no boundary between inside-outside. We tried to create a comfortable facility even for unfamiliar users.
