苅田のギャラリーGallery of Kanda

苅田にあるマンションの一室をプライベートギャラリーに改修するプロジェクト。どんな作品が展示されても仕上げが意識されないようにするため、壁・天井を無機質なモルタル塗りとした。左官職人と配合や抑え方を吟味し、均質になりすぎない質感を探った。デザインを深く理解している施主との共同作業がとても楽しく、特に最後まで決定しなかった引き戸取手は、施主自身によるデザイン。河原で拾ってきた石を強力な磁石によりガッチリ取り付けられている。施工は多能工集団ユニールテクニカの宮本さんによる。

It is a renovation project of an apartment room in Kanda to be functioned into a private gallery. In order to accentuate any kind of the art-works, wall and ceiling were finished using inorganic mortar paint. We did a research to find the best mix for a texture that is not too homogeneous. By working collaboratively with the owner, we deeply understand the design and it was very pleasant. Especially the design of sliding door handles which was not decided until the end by the owner. The stone which was picked up from Kawahara was attached with the handle by powerful magnet. Construction was done by Mr. Miyamoto from multilayer work group of Unile Technica.
