おもやとはなれOmoya to Hanare

これから両親と同居をするため、両親の生活する築50年の古い民家を改装し、自分たちの生活する「はなれ」も増築したいと相談を受けた。若夫婦が両親と共に、古い建物も大切にしたいと思う気持ちに強く惹かれた。まず「おもや」の改修では、必要のなくなった部屋を減築することにした。かつて子供部屋であったところの外壁を取り払い、広い縁側をつくった。また、「はなれ」が「おもや」に寄り添い、また、ひとつの庭に向かい合うことができるよう、「はなれ」の平面形状を少し曲げ、庭を囲い込んだ。2世帯の家族、古い建築と新しい建築が混ざり合い、ひとつの家に仕上げられていくことが今から楽しみである。

In order to live with parents from now on, the couple wanted to refurbish the 50 years old house where the parents are living and wanted to expand the "tears" they live. The young couple strongly attracted to cherish the old buildings as their parents too. As for the idea, we decided to reduce the room that no longer used. We removed the outer wall which used to be a child's room to become veranda. Here, the family of two households, where old building and new building are mixed in one.
