こころ保育園Kokoro Nursery School

市内の新興住宅地に建つ0歳から２歳児が通う小さな保育園を計画した。各居室にはトップライトを設け、勾配天井を伝って子供たちに優しい光を届けている。主な居室はすべて園庭に向けて配置し、相互の部屋は建具を開け放つ事で園庭と一体的に使えるようになっている。この保育園の園庭には遊具がない。そこにあるのはウッドデッキと地面の小さな段差のみ。遊び方がはじめから用意された場所ではなく、子供たちの繊細な感覚で小さな地面の起伏を頼りに遊び方を見つけていけるような場所になる事を目指した。

We designed a small nursery school for kids between 0 to 2 year old in a new residential area in the city. Each room is equipped with a top light, which could pass the daylight softly to the room through the slope of ceiling. All of the main rooms are facing the inner garden, and the multifunction rooms can be opened to connect with the garden. There is no playground equipment in the garden except only some different height step between the wooden deck and the ground. The aim was to create a place where children could create their own way to play freely with their creativity, rather than place and equipment that designed from the beginning.
