庭をこよなく愛し、植物を育てることが得意なクライアントからカフェ＋住宅を造りたいと依頼があった。よくよく話を聞いてみると、カフェ経営をしたい訳ではなく、気軽に友人が訪ねてくることができる環境を望んでいることが判り、カフェは大変なので、よしたほうが良いのではと提案した。そのかわりに、「日常生活スペース」を「ゲストスペース」を分け、庭に面したゲストスペースでは、土間のような縁側のような場所を提案した。その場所には、連日気のおけない友人が訪れ、日常と隔絶された穏やかな時間が流れている。

We were asked to design a cafe + house from a client that loves gardening and good at planting. Listen to the story we found that the client wanted an environment where friends could visit every time while enjoy some drink in cafe. Therefore, we divided "daily living space” which is a private space into "guest space" to differ the space as a place to serve customers separated with Japanese doma floor type facing the garden.
