It is unusual that the spaces between neighbors are close in rural area so it became our concern. On the other hand, the client (a couple) engaged in a big social responsibility. We tried to provide the family with a relaxing house that does not care about the gaze around. The second floor was the main room, and plenty of light entered from upper windows in three different directions (east, west, and south). Deciding length of the eaves is our concern to reduce the direct sunlight as much as possible. In addition, we set up a balcony with no specific purpose continuing from the living room on the second floor. We hope that all family members could spend time outside.
