風のオフィスOffice in the Breeze

生物や植物の調査を主たる業務とする「エコプラン研究所」がキーテナントとして入居する住宅街に建つオフィスの計画。環境を考える会社が住宅地のオフィスから自然環境への実践を行うことで、近隣住民が環境について考えるきっかけになると考えた。建物の配置を決める過程では敷地形状を読み、六角形の通り芯を配置していくと馴染みがいいことがわかった。また敷地は住宅街の高台に位置しており、気持ちの良い風が吹き抜けることが予測できたため、実験を行い強風が吹いても書類が飛ばないような「風量調整建具」を開発した。今後、この建築を通じて近隣地域の住民に環境に対する意識が少しずつ浸透していくことを願っている。

This project is an office building located in a residential neighborhood, with Eco Plan Research Institute—a firm primarily engaged in biological and botanical research—as its key tenant. We envisioned that a company dedicated to environmental issues could practice its principles through an office situated within a residential area, thereby providing local residents with an opportunity to reflect on environmental awareness in their daily lives. In determining the building layout, we carefully read the shape of the site and found that introducing a hexagonal circulation axis allowed the building to harmonize naturally with its surroundings. The site is situated on elevated ground within the neighborhood, where pleasant breezes were anticipated. Based on this condition, we conducted experiments and developed original “airflow-adjusting fittings” that prevent documents from being blown away even under strong winds. Through this architecture, we hope that an awareness of environmental issues will gradually take root among the residents of the surrounding community.
